Any help appreciated - I have been offered a Scott CR1 Team 2008 road bike with 105 components and triple front ring. Bike has barely been used (100 miles max). They bought it for £1600 and unsure of the value today and what I should offer?
The bike is a good fit for me and I have ridden it.
Has the Scott technology moved on much in 2 years - the 2008 frame is still a good frame (the reviews from 2008 were positive)

Thanks ! :)

    Your adverts should include:

Photos - or at least a link to a FLICKR/hosting site, and not Manufacturer websites. We know what XXX looks like, but what we REALLY want to know is what the bike/bits for SALE looks like.

MODS get ready to zap this one.

@ TheROCK. Read the post - he isn't selling, he's asking for advice.....

MODS get ready to laugh at TheROCK

Obviously needs moving to the right forum (road buying advice) but to answer the question.....

These models were available towards the end of that season for about £1200 new. Even if little used the fact it's second hand will mean that £800 or so would be a good price. I bought one last year for £750 in pristine condition if that helps.

Thanks for the messages and yes it appears I have put it on the wrong forum. I am indeed buying this bike, not selling. Thanks for the price estimate.

I got one end of 08 for £1050.

    I reckon £700 - who wants a triple?

I bought a Scott CR1 Team recently off this site - excellent condition.

Shimano 105 groupset (which I've now upgraded to Ultegra SL for nothing!). I paid £800 for it which seems to be about the ball-park figure but what I was pleased about was that it came with a set of Dura-Ace clinchers, which are very nice and made it a very good buy at that price IMO.

That's good to know then. I bought mine through Cycle to Work so cost me around £620 in total so I can make money out of a bike that I've got to ride around for 1 1/2 years - cool

Great bike though and I'm not selling
