Carb loading timing...

Okay, I've often gone heavy on pasta and chicken etc the night before a bog ride or a competition, but I was wondering how long after eating do you get the most benefit? I'm out for another night ride tomorrow, which will be fairly long and I'm leading it, so I don't want to end up bailing on all the climbs   .
Should I be eating my pasta for dinner tonight, or for lunch tomorrow? Or even breakfast? The ride starts at 7pm!
Any thoughts?

Proved by testing to be faster than a badger.

Funny, I usually go heavy on a dodgy curry or kebab the night before a bog ride0 -

To carb load properly it has to be planned a week before.0 -
I've never been that "proper" about doing it, just hoping for a little extra help...
