Does Eurosport hate cycling?

Just wondering, as it always seems to be cycling that either gets cancelled or reshuffled in the programming. (Giro highlights, stage 4. Supposed to be shown at 22:45. Now cancelled.) does this happen regulary with other sports? I tend to only watch for cycling coverage. I appreciate if a live programme over runs but this is not often the case for programmes shown later in the day. Should have recorded the live coverage earlier but found setting the DVD recorder to start an hour early and finish a hour later than the listed broadcast to be the only way to get the whole of it. It's very frustrating. Can anything be done?

^+1 Yes, it's a pain when it gets bumped off the schedule (glad you confirmed it happened yesterday as I thought I'd imagined it when I turned on at 10.45pm and found sailing - thought I may have had a dyslexic moment!) but without them there would be almost no cycling on TV in the UK other than a bit of track coverage on Sky / BBC, possibly the worlds on BBC, the Olympics and ITV's French tourist board advert (sorry TDF highlights!). To be fair ES did show the Premier Calendar race highlights last night which I've Sky+d0

Eurosport is the No1 channel for cycling
Surprised how little Sky are showing with Team SKY now in action. Supose contracts were signed long ago.0 -
I'm p!ssed off, too....
Last time home, I had Eurosport 2 on my digital TV.
Now, that the cycling season is underway... I can't find it!
B*stards! :evil:Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
They do overrun with a lot of their sports but its grating to see what you have been waiting to see and it gets knocked for Womens Tennis which is rubbish unless some fit Russians are playing. I had the reminder for the late repeat last night in my Sky box which just disappeared.0

Also, what's the point in advertising your service to people who already have it?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Why do they have adverts on Eurosport player?
Surely they've already collected your money...why do I have to watch Farrar's transition lens ad and random country tourist board ads? I've already paid!!!!
Does anyone else get sporadic freezing of pics whilst the commentary continues? I'm guessing it's either the transmission at the event or my computer - but it only happens at what would be peak times...meaning I have now missed the finish of Milan-San Remo and other classics. What wheels...? yes but i'm blaming bloody BT broadband for that - oddly watching europlayer on the iphone (via broadband) gives pretty flawless coverage. I guess it takes less space but it's quite annoying to be wathcing an iphone, and for it not to work on the large screen. grrr
Oh well the BT's going this week hopefullyblog: bellevedere0 -
Eurosport is very good for cycling.
Be careful though, don't give up thinking you've missed out on the cycling at that time. Flick on to HD or Eurosport 2 and sometimes it'll be on. Most of the cycling this week is on ES1 and HD. At the weekend they have cut down coverage on ES1, but longer coverage on HD.
Next week I think it flips to ES2 (be aware if you've set a series link). But we have the added bonus of the Giro and Tour of Cali (live) on at the same week. Might mean the Giro "highlights" programme has been bumped off in the evnings though.
Don't forget the some of the Calendar series races are shown a few days after the races too.0 -

So that's no different from "regular" Eurosport, I have to pay for that too...0 -

Exactly....we're being screwed!
Thankfully it's only a couple on Eurosport Player - It's one of business' great success stories - managing to get people to pay to watch adverts. What wheels...? Wheelsmith.co.uk!0 -

That's great but unfortunately we are in desperate times and tough decisions have had to be made to cut the Pross family budget deficit which means I've had to cut my HD subscription as an austerity measure0 -
Call me a tight @rse but I refuse to pay to watch tv, my least favourite pastime. Are there any terrrestial / digital channels that show cycling? Other than this, the only sport I'm interested in is skiing and I can always watch ski Sunday.0

Eurosport are very good for cycling coverage, but, it always seems to sacrifice it when the bl**dy tennis overuns.
If they got on with it instead of sitting down every farts end for a drink, a banana and a wipe down matches might onlt take three hours instead of four and a bloomin' half. :x
Just get on with it there's some proper tough men on bikes to watch comin' on next you tarts.Tail end Charlie

Eurosport have bills to pay too, and the Tennis probably gets them more adverts, and probably has a clause meaning they have to show the whole match.Do Nellyphants count?

There's me thinking Eurosport Player would be free like BBCiplayer and the ITV player. although 34 quid for a year isn't that bad, shame my connection sucks more cock than a chicken sucking contest.http://www.youtube.com/user/Eurobunneh - My Youtube channel.0

Ah we're on Virgin, ES HD has only just been added, at no extra cost if you have sports channels. A couple of weeks ago we didn't have it, so I guess we're lucky with that.0 -
Sky plus. Set it to record live event and all highlights - it is usually possible to get at least one of them at the right time. Costs more but there you have it. Just watch out with series link if it swaps between eurosport and eurosport 2.0

I couldn't wait to see bradley wiggins go for it in the TT,but then ES went to a bloody break. Then we had to see him crossing the line in a replay! Then on the TTT they did the same! I couldn't belive it.oh my god not another hill !!!0
