I decided to treat myself in the New Year to a new bike frame, something to take over from the ageing Hardrock I had beforehand. Parts were transferred over where they were of use and new ones bought when I had the spare cash - here is the result.
Frame: On-One Scandal 18
Forks: Rock Shox Recon 335 (set at 100mm)
Bars: FSA 180
Stem: FSA 190 70mm
Headset: Hope
Grips: Specialized Endura Grips
Front Brake : Juicy 5 180mm
Rear Brake : Juicy 5 180mm
Shifters: SLX
Front Mech: Deore
Rear Mech: Deore
Seat: Charge Spoon
Seat Post: FSA SL250
Seat Post Clamp: Hope QR
Cranks: SLX Triple (Granny ring removed)
Pedals: SPD M540
Bottom Bracket: Hope Stainless Steel
Front Wheel: Hope Pro II with EX500
Tire: Panaracer Trailraker 2.1
Back Wheel: Hope Pro II with EX500
Tire: Panaracer Trailraker 1.95
Weight: Haven't weighed it properly, but scientific bathroom scale method said somewhere between 24 - 25 lbs.
Rides lovely, easy on the climbs - lots of fun on the descent. Very pleased with the result.
