Anyone got any solid details about what events you need to ride in 2010 to be eligible for pre-qualification. I have read a lot but nothing clear. Looking to do most of my pre-qualification events round the north west, any recommendations?

    The details are on the "Plaquette" ( http://www.audax-club-parisien.com/down ... TTE-GB.pdf )

Basically if you ride a 1000km in 2010 then you get to "preregister" on the 3rd of April, 600km in 2010 April 17th, 400km May 1st etc etc down to 200km

Addittionally the word is if the French have nearly everyone with a 200km for 2010 that will be ignored as a prereg advantage. If many people have a 300km that will be ignored etc

Preregistered riders will still need to register properly by June 19

Why is it an advantage to preregisiter? Because for the past few years the size of the ride has been capped at roughly 5000 entrants but the number of people wanting to do the ride exceeds this. Last time the field was somewhat over 5000 but this time to avoid trouble with the authorities the limit is probably going to be more strictly observed. Preregistered riders will have the slots that are going, first.

In the UK all entries must go through AUK (Audax UK http://www.audax.uk.net ). Because the UK has a low DNF rate from last time and because AUK has really gone berserk with prequalifying rides ( all stuff over 200km is a "BRM" qualifer this year) the quota of allowed entrants from the UK is going to be pretty good and it is unlikely that UK riders will miss out.

vorsprung - thanks for posting the link to the Plaquette, makes my schedule much easier to figure out! (But means I need to start training seriously sooner than I'd thought.) Time to order that new frame soon...

YACF is almost an alternative PBP site and they have all the info. You now have to have a 600km by a certain time brfore the event. It was toughened up as people were entering and relying on a last minute 600km to get their quota. Note that there are less events in the NW so you may have to travel. The Old 240 is v.v.hard but a good test to see where you are fitness wise. 3 Coasts is a good 600km and a lot of riders go for the Bryan Chapman 600km. Nothing to stop you doing perms tho'

Perms are not BRM and therefore have no weight with ACP, the PBP organising club
One cannot qualify or prequalify with a AUK perm, sorry
