I like clicky freehubs! I love the sound. It just sounds like good engineering for some reason.
Unfortunately my freehub doesnt click so much. Does anyone know what freehubs make a good clicky noise?

Always good when you're chasing down (or being chased by) someone with Hope hubs. You know exactly where they are as they sound like a chainsaw.0

hopes are the loudest hubs I've heard
I don't like 'em, mine remind me I should be pedalling :oops:Everything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer
If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day0 -
Tune make some pretty damn loud hubs.
tbh though, there are more important things I look for in a hub. (like colour )0 -
I got a set of crank bros Iodine's.
Clicky is not the word they sream on fast runs. Sound great all the guys in front hear me coming now. No more "excuse me" or "rider coming past" they have already moved over buy the time I arrive at full tilt.
I used to laugh at pepole with noisy freehubs but now i understand.0 -

Would that not do the same thing as reflectors and snap the spokes thoughcgarossi wrote:Do Hope freehubs only fit in Hope hubs?
I think so yes since each hub is designed differently0 -
my ultegra makes a hell of a noise.LOL road riding.0

I like the noise too. Not convinced it sounds like good engineering to me though.0

i had a hope rear hub once before and it sounded awful, the clicking wasnt at all uniform and sounded like all sorts of bits of metal were randomly rattling around.
i much prefer the sound of a dtswiss hub, they still click, not ll that loudly but they sound like pure precision.
i like the sound of chris king hubs too, they are very loud but sound very precise, unlike hope!0 -

my halo combat hub sounds pretty damm sweet, although i havent heard any hope ones, so nothing great to compare it too really
i look forward to a big hub spinning competition next time im with a big group of riders to hear whos is the nicest0 -
I still love the sound of my old, original, hope bulb on my old bike.0

Glad I read this thread, I thought there was something wrong with my Hope...
It is very useful as I often ride along a canal towpath, just stop pedaling and the walkers can here me a mile off!XC: Giant Anthem X

Trainer: Bianchi via Nirone
