got my ardennes from these guys. like the ardennes so much am thinking of getting the C2 40/60 mix from them. they're very cool in that they allow mixing and matching of rim heights - so you can have a set of 40/40s or 60/90s or 40/90s etc etc etc for £1050.

i ordered 2 pairs of ardennnes and they came within 3-4 days.

what did you get from them if i may ask?

  • Based in part on your advice from my other thread I just dropped my hard earned cash on the HED Jet 6/9 C2 wheelset. Jet 6 front and Jet 9 rear !!?!

I really do hope they turn up quick, I'm almost beside myself with the anticipation of going for a spin on them at the weekend.

Certainly looking forward to unleashing them at Helston Triathlon on June 6th, my first 'A' race of the year. I think they'll look lovely with my matt black Giro Advantage 2 also, lets just hope i put in a top 5 bike time and finish top 10 otherwise I must admit i might be a little dissapointed. I've been training pretty hard so it's looking good at the minute, wheels alone do not a race win, before anyone points that out to me.

I got Zipp 404's from Alex, earlier this year.
    Fantastic service from him.
I had a problem with a valve extender, and he sent a courier that day to pick them up and fix them. That happened twice... Dodgy valve core batch!
He couldn't have been more helpful if he'd tried!
I'd buy from him again, without thought.

i agree with that - I'm not sure of their names but they actually *talk* to you, not at you. they're not trying to get you off the phone the whole time. FWIW the guys as powermeter rental are superbe as well. i call the guy up to talk about a powertap and next thing you know we're deep into conversation about what it's like to lose a parent. the powermeter guys are top notch as well. credit where credit's due.

I'm thinking of a 40/60 mix so am keen to hear how your 60/90 set up. Are you going to try it on the Marmotte? :-)

not going to be trying the 60/90 combination on the marmotte anytime soon .. they're the perfect climbing wheel though right ?! i'm not a weight weenie so you never know i might just have a pop at it with them in, why not ?

i know i will feel thoroughly sick when i have to put mavic aksiums back on the bike rather than the HED's .. .

i think i may HAVE to get the dura ace 7850-C24-CL's also and keep the mavics for the turbo and/or really inclement weather days, in my tiny tiny mind this seems acceptable. Or now I am officially about to join the HED club perhaps i should get a set of ardennes also ?

i phoned earlier and hopefully they dispatching thursday, maybe friday ..

The CLs are nice but why didn't you cut a deal for the 60/90s and the Ardennes in 1 go with labici? I was going to 3 pair of ardennes when i got mine but the 3rd guy pulled out so me and the remainin guy just got a pair each - they still did an OK if not stunning deal on 2 pairs....

  • yeah i should have thought of that, you wouldn't think i worked in procurement would you. doing such deals all day every day at work .. aaargh.

oh well, it's going to happen i'm sure, just not this week, i think i've spent enough.
