O.symetric chainrings on MTB

Lately i have been reading alot about O.symetric chainrings, i know they have been about for years but lately they seem to becoming more used by the roadies.
I was just wondering if any MTB manufacturers have tried to make or use these on MTB's or is there is any reason why they cant?

the new version.. which is apparently infinately better s the rotor q-ring. Fabian Barel used them all last year racing DH. He swears by themI like bikes and stuff0

I have Biopace on my road bike, and one of my mountain bikes. Quite honestly can't tell the difference when I ride.I don't do smileys.
