I have been using a pair of 'Awesome' (thats the brand) shorts for about a year now, and they are ok for up to 30 miles or so, but after that they may as well not be there

I am looking for some around £30, I was thinking of the size 14 of these http://www.prendas.co.uk/details.asp?ID=2512 (after all, I am 14) or these http://www.prendas.co.uk/details.asp?ID=2286

Any other suggestions? I don't mind spending a bit more if its really worth it.

Buy cheap buy twice is an old saying that is often true.

Giordana I would recommend and a little more than £30 should get you into their techline range. Parker international and wiggle a good start point to search.

Prendas have a good reputation however although I cannot comment directly on your two choices here it is often the case that lower cost team kit is exacty that... low cost and usually the padding in the shorts is very basic. Possibly no better than your current shorts.

At 14 and still growing you don't want to spend a fortune as its likely that within a year you may have outgrown them.

Pretty much what I was thinking, hence the cheapness

Yes - this is what I would recommend. Giordana a good make and possibly second to Assos. I believe you will find these a good improvement on your current shorts.

I ride Giordana Tenax and just treated myself to Assos Uno S5.

I am sure these will be good for you.
