Goals

Now that the summer is here, I've been thinking about what I want to achieve riding wise.
I want to get better at manualling and jumping, and generally become smoother descending. I want to get much, much fitter then I am now. And I want to complete a Cytech and MTB guiding course.
And maybe learn to service my own forks.
Have you got any goals to aim for?

Improve my jumping
Improve my technique for drops, go bigger!

after 5 days of riding morzine DH runs on a HT, your puny body, will be shattered into a million pieces :P best to get a hire bike imo
Isn't that what a challenge is? Trying to 'beat' something? Is for me, I don't like things being easy. But yes I know, I will be dead at the end0 -

lol there is easy and downright stupid, your case is the latter :P0 -
Doing my first race... Hopefully next week, all booked and organised but I've crocked myself a bit so it's kind of touch and go...
Do the full DH at fort william (only rode the bottom half last year)
Try not to break any more bones! This one with special reference to our week in France, I do not want to be that guy that smashes himself on day 1.
At the back of my mind is either riding the west highland way or one of the scottish offroad CTCs... Maybe towards the end of the year
Do all the remain 7 Stanes. Even the ones nobody else wants to do But I've a feeling I won't get this one done, frankly the chances of going to Glentrool and not just going to Kirroughtree instead are pretty damn slim
And generally get fitter, but I'm already much fitter and stronger than really seemed possible after I smashed my leg up so this one I'm not stressing over, I'm really pleased with what I've got and anything more is a bonus.Uncompromising extremist0 -

One of the guys I ride with did 5 days in Morzine on a Scott HT with v brakes and a dart 1 fork. He had an ace time! OK he is a nutter but it can be done!0 -
I want to...
Ride more than just my local loops
Get better at drop offs
Stop making a mess of that last corner before home
Go more than one month without some sort of mechanical problem0 -
Got to be the same as always for me - get fitter - as I believe this will lead to be riding better all round. Going to start by attempting to do some commuting to work so I can more more miles in than I am now.
I hate being a weekend warrior due to unavoidable work/life commitments!0 -

ride a huge amount in the time I have between finishing the masters and going out to france to guide and spanner waggle on cycling holidays. pass on the local knowledge I've gained at uni to some friends who have started riding up here before I go.Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0

Lose another half stone. However I'm finding it pretty difficult with a desk job and a weakness for jam donuts0

One mans downright stupid is another mans challenge. And quite often another mans idea of a gentle warm up. All about perspective.
+1. He's probably just jealous0 -

2. Keep up with some of teh local fast guys on singletrack.
3. Do a run of my local woods without using any of the chicken runs.
