forum search wasnt very fruitful. about to become the proud owner of a new hed jet 6/9 wheelset, can anyone clarify/recomend what innertubes with appropriate length valves inc extenders etc i should be buying ..
i was thinking 51mm vittoria tubes with removeable valve cores and 62mm extender, this should be fine for the jet 9 but a bit long for the jet 6 ?! they only sell them in pairs, which is gender indeterminate.
how about this type of extender:

any suggestions appreciated cheers ?!

Planet X do many different lengths and sell them separately:

Some PTFE tape from any hardware store on the threads of the extenders is a good idea to keep it all airtight as well.0 -
Which is ......what?
suggest you reconsider your wording.0 -

Not sure what you're asking here, or if you're asking me or the OP?0 -
it appears the original text of the OP has now changed. "gender indeterminate" wasn't exactly the term used when he posted.
back to topic... the planet x extenders do the job nicely and handy when you have unmatched rim depths. the plumbers tape works a treat to. in short... +10 -
i think it was the ghey comment which i have since ammended for fear of invoking the ban stick and or other retaliatory action.
i have since placed an order for some fancy red valve extenders from planet-x, so thanks for your recomendation, they have already dispatched allegedly.0 -
cheers chaps.
it's not just as simple as new wheels is it !! Add to the list: new inner tubes, valve extenders, rim tape, new tyres. I think that's it.
Now that little lot had better turn up by the weekend (along with the wheels) so i can go hammer the thing, otherwise i will be very upset indeed.0
