Hi all,
sure this has been asked 100 times but I have 1k to spend. I'm currently looking at the usual suspects (planet x, boardman, ribble) but does anyone have either a viable alternative or a preference between the three already mentioned?
Thanks
Skinny

That's the tradition on this forum. Whenever PX and Boardman are mentioned, Caad9 must be mentioned.
I have PX SL Pro Carbon myself. It is as good a bike as e.g. the Bikeradar reviews say. A heavy / strong guy may want a bit more surefooted front than what's available in the default configuration. A fork upgrade to e.g. Easton EC70 addresses that issue 100%. Put some additional money to upgraded wheels and you've got a bike that's very close to a high end bike without wasting a fortune.
For most of the riders, neither the forks nor the wheel upgrade is necessary.0 -

Is it a lesser spec than the 'normal' Cayo 105 2010? It's quite a bit cheaper and it looks better imo.
On the subject of which, anyone got any good photo's of one? I've only seen pics on Wiggle's site.
I'd love to know how the likes of Ribble, Focus etc. manage to sell their bikes so cheap. Compared like for like they are always a good few hundred pounds cheaper than an equivalent model from one of the mainstream brands with no apparent down sides. Well I've never seen a bad review anyway.0 -

syncro,
the 'proper' 2010 model has BB30 bottom bracket, i think that special edition is just a 2009 with a different paintjob.0
