Computer Recommendation

I'd quite like to get a decent looking computer for my MTB to track it's mileage throughout it's life.

Obviously I don't want to ruin the lines or the look as some computers are monstrosities.

What should I be looking at? Wired, wireless?

I quite like the look of the Cateye Strada, but am unsure on the wired or wireless model.

Budget is around £50 but am willing to go higher if it's something really decent.

The frame is white with white forks & black handlebars/seatpost etc. so it won't be too difficult to colour match.

Still in two minds about getting one at all, but if I can find something that looks decent and is decent then I'll check it out :)

Cheers

Ive got a Wireless Strada, its a good bit of kit, small enough to be discreet, the sensor unit aint too big either and doesnt look out of place opposite the caliper, id say go for one of those, As im sure others will when they see the thread.

I was looking at some that attach to your arm to avoid having to put anything extra on the actual bike, but then when going at speed/on bumpy trails it's not going to be too easy to let go and check out your stats :P

Just a little hesitant to stick a computer on my lovely handlebars, but would really love to know how far I've been (especially today!) :D.

    Thanks.

I've just fitted a strada (wireless) on saturday it's great way smaller than i was expecting similar size to a watch. The sender on the forks is slightly smaller than a watch and a tiny button magnet on the spokes

    Sounds quite good.

What batteries does the receiver take & how often do they run out? Just wondering if it's worth going wireless really, although I guess it gets rid of another cable.

Just been reading a few reviews and comments on the Strada Wireless and overall it seems to get quite good ratings, however a lot of people have said the mount isn't very good and clips around or even comes off.

Have you been out with yours yet? Any problems?

Everyone will recommend the Strada but I don't like mine at all, too much effort went into making it small and not enough into making it usable. My Sigma on the commuter isn't much bigger but has the space for 3 function buttons which is just about enough.

I've done about 12 miles with it now not moved a bit couple of off road bits with some tiny jumps (trying to get it to move  ) i'm quite happy with it for what i want distance travelled and speed on any downhill sections

That's basically what I want mine for which is why I'm not going for cadence or anything. I guess it just requires proper attaching and it shouldn't move.
