We have the last one on your list, protected the bikes well on numerous trips, we got it from

I have one of the touring boxes (last one on your list) which you could have for £100 but you'd have to collect. Could be a problem as I live in Somerset - a long trip from Merseyside, but postage would be a nightmare.
I no longer use the box as I bought an Airnimal folder. The box is in vgc and certailnly protects the bike. They are a bit fiddly to close but secure once closed, having four locks as well as a velcro strap. With all boxes you need to be careful about excess baggage penalties, and they can be awkward to get into taxis/on buses etc. This is the price you pay for much greater protection of your bike.0 -
Can you hire from BikeBox Alan? Might be cheaper if you aren't using it a lot. We've just come back from Spain and my partners Planet X bike bag did the job again. Lots of pipe lag/bubble wrap, some cardboard lining the side and it works well.M.Rushton0

I've used one of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=18012 and have been really happy.
My mates used the "hard case" style before and reckon because the sides to flex on hard cases anyway that this style is just as good. They've bought these now as well...there used to be a dhb version but it seems to have gone.0 -
Those are nice. Not as good as Alan or SciCon but good vfm. The SciCon soft case looks good but for £80, the Planet X bag we have has proved excellent. I'd consider getting a support frame from eg GB Cycle to go in the bag, but so far the bag/foam/lagging and bubble wrap have looked after the bike thro' numerous trips to the Alps, Italy and SpainM.Rushton0
