Tricross Alternative.

I bought a Specialized Tricross second hand, but had to return it due to some confusion over the size of the bike. I bought it as a 56 cm, but it was actually a 54 cm.
Before I buy another Tricross of the correct size, I wonder if the members here could suggest possible alternatives?
Me - 60 year old recreational rider, hoping to ride 20-50 miles on a fairly regular basis at a relaxed pace. Maybe the very occasional century!
Why did I like the Tricross?
- Wide gearing,
- Long chainstays,
- Long wheelbase.
- Riding position more upright than many road bikes.
- Carbon fork, hopefully helping with comfort.
Are there alternatives?
Thanks,
Steve

I am not sure if it ticks all the boxes for you but have a look at a Planet X Uncle John Cross bike. Or perhaps a Kona Jake the Snake? I recently bought a secondhand Uncle John for commuting/ cyclocross/winter bike. It came with 30mm tyres. It is so much fun and the wider tyres make for a cushy ride. It has a more upright position too. Last thought..from Edinburgh bikes http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/ebwPNLqrymode.a4p?f%5FProductID=12407&f%5FSupersetQRY=C438&f%5FSortOrderID=1&f%5Fbct=c003155c018341 I forget which manufacturer they badge up.
