Sorry mods if posted in wrong place
My friend and i are looking for distribution companys that we can get to supply us with parts for our new venture as a repair center in devon.
We have contact the obvious ones like maddison/zyro and direct but unfortunatly we are not in a postion to spend massive amounts on stock, Just keeping overheads low and stocking low end parts , but we will obviously order parts that are needed or wanted by the customers.
We do not want to sell bikes just hold service spares that would be needed for general repairs and services.
Apart from the ones i listed does anybody have any others they can think of. i have been told BBB do spares but have no idea of what quality product they stock..
cheers

Why not buy from chainreaction they seem to stock everything you would ever need for a bike and usually seem to do it cheaper than wholesaleFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0

I have a similar venture just up the road from you in Exeter.
After I was made redundant my old company paid for me to do some course so chose some Cytech training and MIAS level 1&2.
I avoided the British distribution places and made some contacts out in Asia. The main reason for this was that companies over here wanted me to buy stock that far exceeded what I needed.
I still have to work full time and do the guiding and maintenance on the side. There's a lot of competition in Exeter but these only really cater for mid to high-end bike servicing as the average Apollo rider won't go near them because they think they'll be expensive. So most of my work is maintaining the lower end of the spectrum. Which suits me fine as they are relatively simple to maintain.
If you want to do it full time get some qualifications like Cytech then start to send out feelers to the Asian distribution places. In the meantime just use Wiggle/CRC etc as most of the work you will be doing will be cable replacement, new brake blocks, indexing gears. The cables are only a couple of quid so just build this into your costs.
Good luck with it...just don't expect it to make you a fortune.Whyte 905 (2009)

Have a look at the Bikebiz website and it will give you a headstart as to who flogs what. It has a forum like this but is cycle trade people only.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
