I'm contemplating the Storck, but to be fair, it's twice the price of the CAAD9 and that doesn't include forks.

Is the price of that Canyon correct? EUR1999 with 11 spd chorus! A real bargain

Canyon is great price and in tests came out stiffer.

Ok BMC bikes are not cheap either but they are very stiff.

I also considering French Cyfac frames they sell on CRC. Ridden by the greats, they are very high quality and very stiff, particularly the Proxidium.

It foolish to spend £1000 for a CAAD9 when entire bike parts are piss poor and not worth much. I get a £400-700 frame and spend the difference on better parts. End up with something better than a CAAD9 for a similar price!

Good try. The company RED Bull for UK is called Rose UK but that isn't the website. Can get the bikes later on in year. They were just at a show.

If you're considering Al, have you looked at the Spooky Skeletor?

Looked at it briefly, gaining popularity. I have one of those but it's another one i can't get hold of unless order overseas.

Canyon! Good enough for Phil Gilbert, good enough for you.

Oh, and did you know that if you have a racing licence you get a couple of hundred euro's discount? Go to their website and click on Sponsorship. ;)

I could be wrong but I believe Silence Lotto also rode the Ultimate AF frame in Paris-Roubaix in 2009?

So much for that old chesnut that alumminium frames are always a harsh ride.

A pro level frame for £600 quid is a bloody good deal.

    Yeah.

Not harsh. As i discovering, it obviously not all about the weight either, as high end alu frames, outperforming the low mid-range carbon frames and on a par with some high end.

Look to Europe-Germany and neighbouring countries for high end ALU stiff frames  .

    Good man.

That project is mine, although it's only the Roadlite model. I'm still very impressed for the price, though. I sometimes wish I'd bought an Ultimate Al instead of ordering the new best I've gone for and saved some cash... Like I said above, if the Ultimate Al is good enough for the current World No.1, then it's more than sufficient for us muggles.

Yes the Canyon has some proven record. The RB is early days, alot for budget, need to see more user tests and reviews. One thing i don't like with alu and carbon is the giant downtube.
