Upgrade my Avalanche

I've got £400 to spend on ugrading my Avalanche 1.0 - most of the bike is stock but I have upgraded the tires to Panaracer Fires and I'm looking for a serious upgrade. I was thinking of a new fork or possible frame but really don't know where to start! I have seen some of the Merlin frames around and they look very nice but I'm not sure if that would be an upgrade or not?
I mainly ride the singletrack around Afan and Cwmcarn if this helps?

If you have to upgrade [is a good, well balanced bike] then I would think about getting a Reba or revelation fork. This will drop some weight and boost performance.0

the frame is a gd frame upgrade the forks and wheels is ur best bet0
