why can't Bjarne get sponsorship?

Given that he can produce winners time after time, you'd think there'd be sponsors queueing up to have a piece of his magic.

Presumably, though, he's tainted in some way - he was part of *that* generation, and he's admitted to it.

Any other reasons?

There's also the persisent rumour that the Schlecks and Cancellara are leaving at the end of the season, which can't help.

  • Cancellara is linked to BMC and the Shlecks are linked to Kim Anderson and Sunderlands new setup.

Cancella will be the big worry.
The Schlecks are over-rated - especially the older one.

Bottom line is there isn't a lot of global corporate cash sloshing around looking for a pro-cycling team to bankroll.

Perhaps the Cervelo TestTeam model is the one, which is more sustainable?

LBL, 2nd in the TDF and best young rider is over-rated?

Perhaps the choice of words was off.
What I was getting at was the simple question, "are the Schlecks the cornerstone of a team, in which, as title sponsor, you would be happy 'investing' £multi-million?" My view is no. Whilst both are at a very high level and reasonably consistent (esp Schleck A), they don't win very often. And sponsors want to see riders crossing the finishing line first.
