I can't seem to find any.
BTW I'm in Barry, and you appear to have the same job as me.

Ogmore valley wheelers, and both Cardiff jif and ajax are near by. However due to my job, i only get 2 weekends off every six weeks so would like to join a club that has midweek rides and have to work shifts.

You're in luck! I'm a member of Ogmore Valley Wheelers. We are based in Tondu. We're a friendly club with Sunday rides starting at 0900 for those who want a general paced ride of about 50+ sometimes east, sometimes west and sometimes over th"hills" at the slowest person's pace. For those more sensible of us there's the 10:00 amblers ride whitch is social 35 miles ish. We rie from physics gym.

Saturday'tS the training ride round the coast road near Barry. I'll add a link all are welcome and we are a family club. Many of us race too. Some more sucessfuly than others! There's a link to our website in my signature and my Twitter . Pleas message me if you like. We're an established club of 75 years and have, in recent years, gained new members. We also had a 'training camp' to Mallorca in april.

Although We're based in Bridgend, there are many members in the Vale and I ride out from Cardiff. There are mid-week rides usually organised via our forum.

Anyone. At all interested please message me.

do you ever ride through pyle? I've seen large groups cycling through there on the way to bridgend and on the way to margam etc... I don't live in pyle but I'm up there most weekends lol.

    In Cardiff there are:

    Cardiff JIF
    Cardiff AJAX
    Cardiff Byways CC
    Cardiff 100 Miles RCC

    Closish

    Ogmore Valley
    Bynea CC

Might be more but can't think of any at the moment, certyainly none in the vale, though plenty north of the M4.

Bynea is in llanelli... so might be a bit of a drive from the vale of glamorgan area.

Nice to see you on here Mr 55. I prefer the new look Saunier Douval ripoff. I liked the blue but a little '70's Atari' look.

Port Talbot and Rhondda would be closer than Bynea but still a bit of a trek. Ogmore or the Cardiff clubs are the best bets. I'm sure there will be some informal rides midweek with JIF or Ajax as they both have plenty of riders and most clubs will have a mid week chain gang in the summer months.

Not sure if the Swansea Wheelers may be a bit too far away from you...

  • I also live in Barry and I've noticed that the local shop beespoke cycles often do a Saturday ride. Not sure if its part of another cycle club though? Not bike fit enough myself yet to try it!
  • Just back from Beespoke Cycles ride - 40 miles into the vale. When the nights get lighter there's usually 1 or 2 evening rides during the week of @ 30 miles.
