A bike which - let's be honest - wasn't exactly "cool".

It was Bryn Terfel, with his son, riding near my local cycle track.

Both had their saddles waaayyyy too low. I was gonna stop and advise him but...

He probably couldn't afford my fees, lol!

Thought you were talking about Sir/Lord Alan Sugar. He may have a face like a ballbag but he can do 60 miles quicker than me if his interview on Jonathan Ross is to be believed. Anyone seen him out on the road?

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Saw picture of Sugar wearing a nice Assos top.
At over £100 for a road top, only a Multi Millionaire could afford Assos!

Naw, Bryn was in old windproof, bobble hat thingy, Son had more technical kit on.

Not a nice bike, but he's got two Mercs: An estate and a sports one, custom built interior...

A mate of mine, who married a multi-millionaire (b*stard!) can be seen riding his son's BMX bike round to the shops quite regularly.

(He does have a $5000 handbuilt road-bike he bought in the states in 2008 as well as several MTB's though!)

I just saw a Muilt millionaire riding round the park on a Pinarello Dogma in full assos kit with his son. What a complete show off!!!!

Seriously we can sometimes get a bit OTT on other peoples bikes. What should you ride around the park on?

1hr 55mins, knackered now! Sunny at start/rain at the end, but great ride tho...

Also do stuff at N'Boro etc. Do road around the region too.

Off for 2 weeks Annual Leave so drop me a line if you want.

    I'm an old but very fit-git !

You don't know of Bryn?! One of the best singers...wait for it..."In the World!"

Organises the Faenol Summer concerts, with Pop, Rock, West End shows and Classical singers, groups etc.

Good music, picnic baskets and wine a-plenty.
Fireworks at the end, all outdoors in the grounds of a huge stately home.
Been to 2 so far, 11th one to take place later this year.

Bryn's a real "Local Hero" and nice guy too.

was it the one where Freehub questioned whether people who look like immigrants should have expensive bikes, or was it another one?

Not sure you would find it "a little thing" if people sneered at you and decided what you should or should not be able to afford based on your appearance (including race). I don't think you would enjoy the experience, to be honest. No doubt you will assure me that you would just laugh it off

I would not be bothered if people thought I could not afford based on my appearance.

a couple of guys did that to me,stood observing at a rest stop speculating over amounts of money to spend on a bike without actually speaking to me, trouble with boardman they know youve spent 1k ,so race has nothing to do with it unless of course you want to read that into it.i thought it was rude as they clearly wanted me to hear them but its understandable in the current climate of recession. they dont understand where you get that much disposable income from, its human nature.

Wow, people really do pull some crap out of the bag, and make false assumptions. Because I mentioned, immigrants, and Chinese, it must mean I'm begin racist. Get a grip people on BR, as I said to the guy who reported me, I might post some silly comments, but freaking hell, the stuff some people make up on here massively tops anything I do/say.

Not having ago at you rake, just the guy who reported me messaged me talking crap about how I was being racist when I wasn't, I expect this post to be deleted in a heartbeat. lol

its not easy - but not smoking and not drinking are two obvious ones.

but then i dont have Sky either which seems to be one of life's essentials, especially those living of 'the social'

yes I do have several £1000's tied up in bikes, like most on here I suspect, but I do at least out it to good, carbon friendly use, and try to keep fit and healthy at the same time.

You do ask where some people spend their money (and certainly that is their choice), well at least I have something to show for it, and my last bike was funded entirely from selling other stuff on e-bay and the ;previous bike

If you saw some scruffy guy, walking around the outskirts of a city centre, about 9pm, backpack on, normal shoes, definitely of Asian origin, you lived in this area btw, so you was aware of the area and the people there.

And they where walking with something similar to THIS:

    http://www.evanscycles.com/products/can ... e-ec020240

You would just look and say, wow nice bike, and not question it, I think 100% of people would question it.

    I rest my case.

And for those people with wrongly calibrated radars that detect racism, nothing in my post is racist and I'm not racist, your racist radar needs re calibrating.

I was being sarcy, clearly everyone thinks everything is racist.

I'm not gonna go on, I've rested my case, anyone thinking what I explained above is perfectly normal is gone in the head. It's definitely suspicious.

It's a shame your original post seems to have been deleted as I'm sure there are loads of people like me who thought that you came across as a racist berk. It was the 'what is it with these people' tone of your rant that made you look like a pillock.

Whoever got the post removed has done you a favour. BTW, you didn't answer the question I posed in your original post:

'How does a dimwit like you afford a CAAD 9?'[/b]
