I am currently trying to sell a Giant TCR Alliance (carbon composite frame & Fulcrum 7 wheels). A chap who is interested is asking whether or not the bike would be suitable for him as he weighs 19 stones.

Whilst I wish to sell the bike. what should my advice be? No doubt if he rode it regularly he would soon lose some of the weight but are such bikes built to carry his load (I used to weigh 15 stones, so I know that that is no problem).

Advice welcome. Thanks

A slightly different bike, but I ride a giant Defy 3 (all Ally with carbon fork and I have been up to 17.5 stone- now down to a lithe 16.5, but mine seems to be holding up!

Well the wheels will most definitely cope, as I know 3 19 stone plus riders who have been using them for a year with no trouble at all.

Was getting confused but seems not, you have posted this in two forums!
