SRS EVENTS 1066 CYCLOSPORTIVE
PREPARE FOR BATTLE !
The 1066 Ride is a new Cyclosportive on the UK cycling calendar for 2010. On Sunday 4th July Burgess Hill will host the Start & Finish of all four rides of this event.
Organised by SRS Events, the rides will be helping raisie money for The Sussex Heart Charity. http://www.sussexhearthcharity.org
All routes start in Burgess Hill and riders travel towards the Battle fields of 1066 country with the premier event the "Classic ride" passing through Battle itself.
No mountains on this event but the courses are hard and a little energy needs to be saved for the infamous Cobb Lane hill which close to the end of ALL rides will punish the weakest cyclosportive warrior and induce many to the walk of shame.
Cyclosportives are NOT races, the beauty and satisfaction of these events is not crossing the line first but taking part and finishing. Although finishing might not be possible for all cyclosportive warriors so many broom wagons will be on hand to clean up after & during the battle.
There are three choices of routes, they are:-
.
THE 1066 CLASSIC CYCLOSPORTIVE RIDE
The premier route is a 104 mile (166km) route with hills such as Cobb Lane Hill to test the strongest of cyclosportive riders.
THE 1066 CHALLENGE RIDE
A 85mile (136km) Cyclosportive is an event which will also prove to be a good test of fitness and determination for most cyclist as it follows some of the route of The 1066 Classic Cyclosportive.
THE 1066 TOUR RIDE
A 66mile (106 km) course for those that are have an issue with gravity and its effect on their ability to climb hills on a bicycle. All events are timed using the SPORTident timing system.
THE 1066 KERMESSE RIDE
A 35 mile (56km) ride Yes the short ride but it still has a few hills and just because your doing the short ride doesn't mean you shouldn't have a go at Cobb Lane
Choose your weapons wisely Cobb lane is a fearsome foe, remember carbon fibre is your friend not enemy. Prepare for Battle enter the 1066 CYCLOSPORTIVE Today

1ST Shown on the Sundance Channel
In response to the doping scandals that tarnished the reputation of professional cycling, former racing cyclist Jonathan "JV" Vaughters formed Slipstream, a team whose members agree to compete without the aid of any performance-enhancing drugs. Documentary filmmaker Nick Davis chronicles the dramatic story of "the clean team" throughout 2008, a year in which the team leader was superstar David Millar -- making a comeback after a doping scandal sidelined his career -- and sees Slipstream win their first invitation to the Tour de France. The DVD for Blood, Sweat + Gears is now available for purchase.Yours in Sport The SRS Events Team http://twitter.com/srsevents http://www.srs-events.cc http://ontherivet.ning.com0
