My manual has so much disclaimers i think my mtb wasnt made for mtbing...
if i ride to agressive disclaimer
if i jump the thing disclaimer
if i bounce anything disclaimer
are some mtb built to only be ridden in the bedroom, or do we just ride the life out of them..
does some of them really live up to what they were made for... disclaimers make me feel my bike is inferior...

I'm sure it's perfectly capable they are just making sure you can't put in a warranty claim for snapping off a head tube by landing badly on a jump.
  • I think its a way of up front warning people that they should use the bike for its design purpose, I agree in black and white it makes it sound like it is not to be ridden off-road.

I interpret as a road bike is not to be used for dirt jumps, and a carbon xc hardtail not for downhill. However I have never made a warranty claim so cannot speak of how it pans out in practice. I am sure plenty of others on here can advise on warranties.

mine is the same. my warranty is void if i broke it racing which seems ridiculous on a £2800 bike. the kind of bike people would race on. how they would know it was done racing i do not know though. if mine ever breaks my story will be i was riding down a disused railway line at the time
