Where to rent a road bike in London or Norwich?

I am coming over from the US to ride the Norwich 100 with a friend who lives up that way. Ride is on June 6th. I would like to rent a road bike because it is too much hassle to bring my own bike over. Can anyone recommend a place that rents decent bikes either in London or Norwich? To give you an illustration what I am after, I ride a Specialized Roubaix, the carbon frame model, size 54". I have rented a road bike before in Italy but never in Britain. Incidentally, I once had a bike stolen by Heathrow baggage personnel, which is another reason why I would rather not bring over my own bike. I wonder if that is still a problem...?

Thanks for any advice or tips on where to find a good rental....

Norwich doesnt have any bike rental that I know of. There are some hybrid bike rentals along the coast and some other touristy places but nothing in the city.
If you are renting, bring your own saddle and pedals.

Maybe the London Cycling campaign can help...Hires out bikes for charity runs. I also like a company called Fat tire who do guided rides around London,Their hire bikes are cruiser types but good for a long run.but not 100 miles. These 100 charity runs sometimes have a 50 mile option if you want to compromise.....

the only place in london that i could find that rented road bikes was tri and run. however, we had MAJOR issues with the bike and shifting/braking -- so if you do go through them i would ask to have a few on hand to try out.

one other thought, which is rather ethically compromised, is that some stores have 'try the out and return for full refund' policies (try wiggle.com and evans).
