Obviously in a race its every man for himself, but when you're just off for a Saturday ride, you always stop to help riders who's bikes aren't quite right, right?

Heh, brilliant
Whenever I go past a rider(s) who looks like they need some help, I always ask if they have everything they need. Not had one say they wanted anything yet, and Im not sure if they did ask id have what they needed anyway! Its the thought that counts though eh......0 -

Always stop and help people you never know when you might need help yourself. What goes around comes around.
Over the years I have helped out loads of times but luckily only needed help once and that one time I was in deep doodoo. Deep in the heart of nowhere in a blizzard with a bust chain and the horrible realisation that the vital chain tool was snug and dry in the bike shed. Just as I was about to break down and cry a guy came out of the snow, he stopped (well it was either stop or run over me) lent me his multi tool and got me going.

You can tell someone is just talking the piss, the brake hose wouldnt be like that unless it was fitted correctly the first time0

I agree. I think it would be pretty noticeable that the bike wouldn't turn right due to the cables0 -

This is Halfords we are talking about though so who knows what they thought :roll:0 -
They done similar on the Carrera I bought from there last weekend. They must do it on purpose, nobody can be that dense!0

I always ask if anyone needs help. So far everyone was said they could handle it. When I'm in trouble most of the riders that pass by ask me also if I need help.
I doubt that if it was car problems or any other situation would be the same, I think people are usually nicer to each other when riding a bike.0 -
I've helped plenty of people out. More often than not, it's sorting the gears out on rental bikes for them, when they realise they can't put enough power down to get up a hill without the chain slipping like mad due to badly adjusted gears.0
