Cannondale Premium Slice Fork Availibility

Hi guys
Is it possible to get the Cannondale Premium Slice (full carbon) Fork from a Cannondale dealer, if so how much are they? The reason I ask is that I am about to purchase a 58cm CAAD9 BB30 frameset but they only come with the Ultra Fork. I would like the Premium Slice Fork from Cannondale as opposed to Easton, Reynolds et al, as I had this fork on my old CAAD 8 and was very happy with the stiffness, performance and aesthetics. I could look out for an unused fork on ebay but they rarely come up for auction in the UK plus I would need one from a 58cm bike or bigger which limits the amount of forks available.
The other option is to buy a full bike, but here in Europe the top level Ultegra level CAAD9 is the only bike which comes with the Premium Slice Fork and retails at £1600 (US$2400)
Regards

You sure about the frameset coming with the Ultra fork? Did some bike shop tell you that? Only I was going to buy a CAAD9 frameset and it came with the premium fork. If I remember right it was £699.
00800 12312311 is the direct number for Cannondale Europe in the (based in the Netherlands) but I know they are in the process of relocating so that number could be dead now. Worth a go though.0 -
Oh by the way, don't worry about that being a Dutch number - as far as I can tell *everyone* in the Netherlands seems to speak perfect English!0

Your meant to see your dale retailer for a replacement, if still under warranty. How else could you get a replacement? That's the trouble with these modern frames with intergrated forks. If a integral part of the bike breaks, you usually have to wait longer for the part. It can takes weeks before your bike is back on the road. You need 2 bikes.
You might be able to buy forks here, they sell the dale frames. http://www.biker-boarder.de/shopware/sh ... anguage=en0 -

True to form, Sandbag speaks some random bollocks again0 -
There's an american seller on ebay that sell cannondale forks quite frequently and often have them unpainted too, just the lacquered carbon. Have no idea what the name is but they're normally one of few sellers with the forks.0

What don't you grasp???
You don't deserve a explanation, but I will write for the benefit, for those who can understand, even if that's one person.

Certain factory modern frames come with there own custom made forks, designed only for a very few, select frames. The SLICE forks are one's in question.
Your bike retailer don't keep these forks in stock usually. You have to wait for the bike retailer to contact the specialist dealer and get back to them, with the part. You may find on occasion they have to order specifically from USA. They both can be a wait or a big wait. This is obviously much longer than buying forks in stock or off the shelf and getting the shop or yourself to fit them. Also specialist dealers can be thin on the ground, depending on where you live.
Despite big dealer in UK. The OP is still having to buy from abroad just to get forks for a recent design frame, because his warranty has probably run out or bought s/h. I offered a shop. You end up paying premium price, plus the cost of importing.
The quality of specialist frames are of good quality and breakages are rare but when it happens, prepare for a longer wait. That's why i said better to have two bikes.
That is the downside with a non standard specialist frame.
You have lots of choice of fork with a universal standard frame.
You pays your money and takes your choice.0 -
I not familar with specific warranty policies from the big manufacturers. Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe it to be
Lifeftime warranty on the frame and a year on the parts?
If the bike is sold on, modified or abused, the warranty becomes void.
Does the frame warranty include the forks?0 -

I think someone on here mentioned that they were getting the 2010 CAAD 9 frameset from Royles bike shop for £699 and they were told they came with the Ultra Forks. The German bike shop linked in Sandbag's post has CAAD 9 framesets for sale but offered with the Ultra Forks. Did Cannondale Europe confirm the CAAD 9 Frameset comes with the Premium Forks? Maybe someone reading this can confirm what they actually received when they ordered a 2010 CAAD 9 frameset?
