Found a lump in my groin area and been told I have an inguinal hernia, still no date for surgery but can take up to 16 weeks. Dubious about cycling as it's only getting bigger, cant go to the gym, GF's going travelling for a few months and I just shagged my gears doing some DIY front deralleur adjusting.

Yeah could be alot worse. I'm not devastated. But it's all a bit frustrating.
Thankfully no one caught me shagging my gears :oops:0 -
might as well get used to shagging those gears if your lass is off on her travels0

Sheriff Colin Miller told Stewart: "In almost four decades in the law I thought I had come across every perversion known to mankind, but this is a new one on me. I have never heard of a 'cycle-sexualist'."
From TTP (Sergeant Pluck speaking):
"The gross and net result of it is that people who spent most of their natural lives riding iron bicycles over the rocky roadsteads of this parish get their personalities mixed up with the personalities of their bicycle as a result of the interchanging of the atoms of each of them and you would be surprised at the number of people in these parts who are nearly half people and half bicycles...when a man lets things go so far that he is more than half a bicycle, you will not see him so much because he spends a lot of his time leaning with one elbow on walls or standing propped by one foot at kerbstones."0 -
hernia is nothing to worry about, I had mine done about 2 years ago. Didin't affect me much: was slow before it, still slow now0

Why are all these arseholes from Scotland?!?! :twisted:0 -
Perhaps it's the lack of those in Scotland that are making them seek out alternatives?
At least you appear to be an inventive race, we are still happy with the sheep down here0 -

Did you cycle with yours? I'm just afraid of it popping out even more. Making recovery from the op longer.0 -

No. I stopped riding a bike for 3 weeks as I had a hole with stitches in my stomach. Just get it repaired, and all will be fine.0
