    IIRC, I don't think they are 'pre-faced' from on-one

According to on one they are factory faced.

My 456 I am not sure about, It is very smooth and even but there is aint on the whole surface. I thougt facing removed this :?

    next question...

My XT front mech came with 2 lots of spacers. 28.6mm and 31.8mm neither seems to fit the seattube which I understand to be 29.2mm).

is there another size inbetween or is the 28.6 one the correct one (seems closest but i don't want to force it...)

    edit

looking at shimano tech docs there isn't a 29.2 size available so what have otehr people done???

I can imagine. I have the orange and that's bright enough...the green must hurt the eyes!

Kawasaki fan then? As Kermit said, "It's not easy being green."

I found a 70's Raleigh TdF copy bike in my Father in Laws garage yrs ago, and had it powder coated frame/fork that colour.

    I liked it...

I had a Peugeot MTB as a teenager in that colour. It actually had tiny yellow spots all over it to make it that bit more hard on the eyes.
