Yo,

If there's anyone relatively new to MTBing and knows some places to go in Newcastle area and wouldn't mind be tagging along it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks

I'd check out the mtbe website, loads of different rides organised around the area. Hamsterely Forest which is just outside Bishop Auckland is good as well, not too far from Newcastle. Good place to go, I'm just back from there this morning 8)

Edit: forgot to say, I've been on a mountain bike three times in total (all in Hamsterely), i'm hoping to get a bike very soon.

How much was it to hire a bike at Hamsterley mate?

    £15 for 2 hours and £20 for half a day I think.

Hi. I am working in newcastle at the moment. It's based a bit further south but check out mtbguisborough.ning.com as well. Good scene going on there.

I go to hamsterly quite a lot. Happy to show you the good stuff.

I'll be in Newcastle after work on Tuesday so will probably head out to Chopwell Forest for a spin, probably around 7 with a mate of mine who knows the place. If any of you want to come along let me know, I've only got a MTB two weeks ago so still getting the hang of it.
