just bought myself a specialized enduro expert 04 frame, have been looking round at reviews and this frame apparently gets very good revies. Question is, would a newer frame be better than this model? Been looking on the 08 and 09 models but cant seem to find a comparison between them.

If i decide to keep the 04, i will probably change the bearings for peace of mind, whats the best bearings for this frame and any ideas where to get them from? I will then have to find on tinternet a guide of the best way to replace them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Alan.

Having owned both an 04 Expert and now an 08 i'd say the 08 is better BUT that's mainly because of the newer components and E150 fork. The 04 was voted bike of the decade by MBR.
It IS a good frame, put a good shock and fork on it plus good finishing kit and you'll have a good solid sub 30lb AM bike.

I wish i'd kept mine

No link has come out in your message any chance you could PM me or put the link in again?

Now that you mention it i remeber something about the bike of the decade. Its got its original fox float rl rear shock and talas fork (hope they both work ok), and i got some wheels coming and full xtr kit except cranks to go on it. Now all i need to do (i probably will keep it) is get a seatpost, clamp, sealed cables, new cassette and possibly new handlebars and i will be all set. All these i could have put on to a different frame hence the reason for asking.

Cheers for the help, cant wait to get it sorted :)

They're simple to fit as well.Took me about and hour to do the lot.

It might be worth have the fork and shock serviced.I had no issues at all with the stock suspension 8)
