Ebay purchasing

Folks, if you buy an item from Ebay and shortly after purchase it fails, do you have a right of return or is there so many days you have to assess the item etc. Just seems a bit of a minefield. Cheers

If it is new most professional sellers accept warranty returns. If it is a private seller I doubt there would be any warranty unless they took it back and returned it to where they bought it from(most warranties are only valid for the original purchaser and non transferable)
If it is used I think there would be little or no chance of return. However if the item is in poor condition and was advertised as good or nearly new you can request a refund as the item is not as described. Buying on eBay is always taking a chance hence why I will never pay more than 50% of RRP unless it is from a professional seller e.g. ebay shop etc.
If you contact the seller they may be willing to offer a partial refund or come to some sort of arrangement with you. If I were the seller I would want the item returning to me to inspect anf then I would consider what to do based upon that.
