My pack that I take everywhere has

spare tube (2 for all day rides)
    pump
    multitool
    tyre levers
    first aid kit
suncream / beanie - depending on weather
    spare baselayer
    lights
    mini torch
    chain links
    brake pads

I also take snacks e.g. nutrigrain, bananas, jelly babies! for energy nad as much water as you need.

Just done it last weekend, hope you like hills!

    My pack contained:
    tubes
    pump
    chain
    powerlinks
    brake pads
    alien II
    snickers
    bananas
    camera
    phone
    wallet

Allsports SR3 in hydration pack (fantastic stuff!)

16 of us done it, we did have a transit with the rest of our gear in (for the nights out!)

Brill 3 days, easily doable in 2, but hope you like hills (yes I said it twice!)

Maybe a couple of zipties too as they can fix many problems as a temporary solution

Just take what you normally take on a day ride and use a luggage courier if you don't have a van back-up for the rest of your stuff.I can recommend these guys:

I highly recommend you bring enough food for 10 people, but dont spread it out over 10 people!

Agree with all the above, I also did it over the bank holiday weekend, first ever big ride!
Loved it!! Although old coach road is and absolute bitch to get to the top!

I'd also take some hydration mix/tablets, we were lucky enough to have back up and sponsorship from local bottled water company, just dropping a tablet of Nunn or high five into a bottle of water makes live a little easier, and as you can by water any where on your travels, have the handing sachets or tablets will help you keep hydrated along the way without having to carry 5+ litres of water at one time.

Done it a couple of times, agree with ajmooseman on the old coach road (go round it if you want to be able to feel your arse the next day, the descent is crap too!).
Take plenty of cash with you for food and unless you want to be stopping all the time take a camelbak or something.

Otherwise, doubt you'll need a spare chain (just pop a couple of links out if you have any problems) and you won't need spare brake pads if yours aren't already dying. Tool and pump - take 1 between a few of you rather than each taking one. Tubes you might need a couple of each just in case.

DEFINATELY take a waterproof, I made that mistake last time i did it and it made it miserable!

Lights - if you're doing it in 3 days you probably won't need them.
First aid-kit - just don't fall off, there's nothing challenging on the way.

Final tip - Get some padded shorts if you've not already!

That would be the first thing on my list! 90% of it is in the middle of nowhere, and it's not renowned for the forgiving weather. I'm yet to do the C2C itself, but I know the moors on the east side pretty well - and being up there soaked through to the skin isn't fun.

I actually live a couple of hundred yards from the track, so if you need a cup of tea... :)
