Hi,
I am 6'3", 75kg and looking for a carbon frame at £1000ish. currently riding custom steel trad geometry. Sloping geometry doesn't seem to suit my height.
and I don't want to spend a grand and end up with 17cm stem and a foot of seatpost!
other tall gents please advise..
Thanks,
adam

Orbea Onix suit you? 63cm frame should do the trick. At your (our) height you'll struggle with the seatpost issue though. I'm the same height as you, long legs and weigh in at 220lbs (I need to lose a fair bit LOL) and my Orbea seatpost looks like this;-
A nice comfy strong frame0 -
I have an XL58 WIlier Mortirolo (57 TT). I'm 6'3" and it fits me fine. Inside leg is around 35"-36" inner leg. I guess now that I am used to a road bike position the XXL may have been a better fit but my flexibility was useless then
The seatpost is quite short (compared to the Onyx above) at around 16-18cm out of the frame and I have a 120 stem thinking of getting a 130 soon to extend reach as the seat is as far back as I want it to go.
So I'm sure other WIlier frames will have similar geometry not too sure about the prices of framesets only but they look great and mine feels great but I'm a relative newbie (first road bike).Up: Wilier Mortirolo

I'm just over 6'4" with a 36" inside leg and ride a giant TCR advanced XL. Its pretty marginal though whether I go for an L or XL, I ride an L size TT bike but the XL road is a bit better for all day riding. You're not tall enough for it to be a limiting factor so you should be fine with any manufacturer!Racing for Fluid Fin Race Team in 2012 - www.fluidfin.co.uk0

@Chrissz- thanks for the picture. no offence, its a great looking bike but that is exactly what i'm trying to avoid. that frame just looks too small for you!
my frame is 61cm seattube, 61cm toptube. (+ 12cm stem) it felt too big at first but once got used to it its perfect.
the only problem is its lugged reynolds 725 and about as stiff as overcooked spagetti!0 -

Ridley XL is 60cm c-t on a sloping with 60cm effective TT.
Eddy Merckx 60 c-c and 59.5cm tt.0 -
It just depends on your proportions rather than just your height. I'm 6'4" and the right size for me in most brands is a 58cm frame. Best to go and at least sit on a few and possible get a proper fitting done.0

Just under 6'3 and have both the Cervel RS and the Specialized SL2 in 58cm with a 58cm tt and 13cm stems. Depending on body length would suggest you would be 58cm or 61 cm frame in Specialized or Cervelo. Still some interesting deals around on 08 and 09 stock close to your budget.
I think Bradley Wiggins is circa 6'3 and I am pretty sure I read that he was using a Pinarello 55cm frame. Now that requires some flexibility.0
