I currently have a set of shimano standard spd pedals but I am getting annoyed constantly having to wear special shoes to just cycle to work. I don't like those spd/flats u can get so I. Want to get a second set of flats. My question is does constantly changing pedals ruin the crank arms ?

It can cause wear. How about keeping a 2nd set of shoes in the office? It's what I do. Saves having to carry any and means you can wear your normal cycling shoes on the commute.0

Me too, spare pair of shoes at work. Easy.0

Someone needs to invent a platform pedal which clips into the spd to convert a spd into flats and back again! T'would be sweet for the 5 people who need it!

There's already that. My SPD pedals came with a plastic platform that cand be attached to the pedal in order to use normal shoes. Clip-in is very easy but it need some kind of tool to clip-out. Pretty handy.

I change my pedals a lot and don't worry about the wear. They don't need to be done up too tight and a good smear of copper slip on the threads means they come off really easily.0

Sounds like a recipe for disaster when you say it like that lol.0
