Last weekend i used all my commuting riding to do the Sunderland to Whitehaven to Sunderland ride, 265 miles, in 20 hours and 8 minutes.

Commuting does give you decent endurance.

    thank you all.

Myself and another 2 guys, Anth and Gary cycled over the Whitehaven in 9hrs 53.

Another 5 peeps joined us next morning for the ride back. Gary bailed out at 200 miles with an almightly blister at the top o Hartside pass and Ray (62) at the 235 mile marker at Stanhope.

We're talking about doing it again and going for a better time. Paid little attention the first time and ponced about a bit. 18.5 hrs perfectly achievable i reckon.

the question is, Can i be arsed?

Next up. Northern Rock Cyclone. Torq Gels ordered from PBK. they worked great!!

Oh I see, you went out on Saturday, stayed over & then came back on Sunday. Still very very impressive but not quite the epic 20 hour 265 mile monster that I thought from your first post.

yep. I'm afraid we had a curry. 5 hrs sleep and poached eggs before cycling back to Sunderland. I can see how thats a great deal easier. ;-)

me and Anth (riding mate) are cycling to London bridge in one go in August (280 miles), this was some training for it
