I'm trying to get my friend into cycling but she is a size 18 and can't find any padded shorts to buy so she can get cycling, get fit, and reduce the size of the issue. No really it is for a friend!!

If she is new, I'd say full on cycle shorts are throwing someone in at the deep end, I'd imagine she'd be much happier(?) in mountain bike shorts with padded under shorts.
Something like Endura Humvees, they come with the inner shorts..
