i would love to do some kind of testing with full blood doping and EPO back to back against being clean and see what % it gives you.
I use CLA and Protein. Would say CLA is the best weight loss supplement i've used as a part time boxer i've used alot. Also compression tights are top notch for recovery, they are unbelievably good.eating parmos since 1981

I have used alot of PEDS in the past due to my Bodybuilding background, but it is not considered cheating as you have two separate competition leagues, tested and un-tested. I took this when I was at a size where natural gains had ground to a halt, and wanting to get much bigger, I was left with one choice. It was not made quickly, and I looked alot into it.
It is not something I ever decided to hide, as I wanted to try to help break the stereotype linked commonly with people that indulge in the above.
Not taken any cycling related, nor do I plan to take any, as it is not allowed in any form of competition, so I would consider this cheating.0 -

I know alcohol numbed the pain a bit on one foolish 5a.m ride but it also numbed the sense of judgement :oops:0

You just don't get the benefits of the VO2 max increase either. You'd be able to train harder and more regularly because of being able to recover quicker. I assume this is down to an increased red blood cell count meaning more nutrients to the muscles through the blood stream (may be wrong!)
I guess this is why you can pretty much spot the people who are juiced as they're the ones relentlessly attacking day in day out."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

Anyway, this isn't about my (lack of) merit as a cyclist, the point I was making was that given that I would class myself as pretty fit, I can imagine why people would raid the over the counter section of a pharmacy for a cyclosportive.
I didn't want my comments to sound like a personal dig.
In any event, this is all utterly lost on me.
The thought of fun riders seeking 'assistance' to clock personal bests in sportive rides is ridiculous.0 -
as i;m fairly rubbish on flats, hills and descents I did wonder what it would be like.
The fact that EPO can reduce your heart rate leading to you dying in your sleep put me off. I would rather be rubbish and alive.
There are stories that in the early days of EPO the pros had to wake up at 2 AM to make sure they stayed alive.
They are illegal for a reason and taking them without a doctor is never a good idea0 -

It was legal then (from 2003 it was on the monitoring list but not banned) but pseudo-ephedrine is back on the banned list this year, anything over 150 microgrammes per mL in urine will get you busted. Better just stick to the ibuprofen-only stuff if it happens again! Not that you're likely to get tested in a club '10', but still.
I think the US have passed legislation restricting the right to sell this freely as it's an active ingredient in methamphetamine.....anybody seen 'Breaking Bad'? Recommended:

It's not that it slows your heart rate, it's that the viscosity of the blood at really high red blood cell counts means that it is simply unable to continue to pump the blood at all at lower resting heart rates."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

I guess maybe some sort of relaxant would help in golf to take the edge of nerves, but not too much that they lay down and stare at the clouds.

Sports that need stimulant PEDs for spectators: golf, snooker, darts...John Stevenson0 -
Someone else said it, there really isn't any feeling like knowing you've done something on your own steam. I've suffered badly at times in many sports - once nearly falling victim to heat exhaustion during a run - but my positive results (not those positives) have more than made up for it.
It's all about preparation. I know how good I can be when I get that right. Actually doing that is another matter, although I readily accept that there will be times when sport gets the better of me. Shame that professionals haven't got that room for manoeuvre.0 -

I did read once that there are drugs that can aid concentration and on a four hour round these can come in useful.
AFAIK there isn't any testing in golf0 -
