Can you extend a 1 1/8th steerer tube which was cu too short

Im looking into buying a new set of sus forks but the steerer is cut to 150mm but it need to be 200mm so will this bit of kit do and be strong for xc riding?

Regards

that is not for a non threaded fork. (quill stem type)

there are extenders for Aheadset type forks.

    eg

dont like them on MTBs but okish on tourers.

By needs 200mm of tube, is that with 50mm sticking out to clamp a stem to if so then a 150mm wil not even clear the head tube, how long is the head tube on the bike? as there are some really compact stems about for short steerer but it does depend how short.

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford?
