KHS XC 604 *-VS-* KHS XCT 555 - Cant decide

So I think I have narrowed my search down to these two. Now I cant decide which one. I want a bike for all general use but will be doing more trails and some road in between.

Can any guru help me decide which I should go for? or should I throw a curve ball in and choose the Voodoo Bakor :wink:

Im 6ft 4inch and 15 stone.

    I just found this thread after searching for comparisons between these two bikes.

    Keen to hear what you go for or what others have to say about this.

    Saw these today at chasewater cycles,and they look and feel very good !nice bloke who owns the shop too.Just need to convince the wife i NEED to spend £800 on a bike which aint gonna be easy !

    I've had a tough time convincing girlfriend that spending up to £1k on a bike was a good idea too! :-) In the end, told her it could help me lose a few stone before our wedding in the Summer! ;-)

    On paper, the bikes seem quite similar, though the XC 604 (2010) gets 4.5/5 in the review on this site, and the XCT 555 (2009) gets 2.5/5.

    Apparently, the 2010 XCT 555 is a pound lighter and has different suspension and brakes, so it'd be interested to see how this scores if it's re-tested. The pictures I've seen of the 2010 model show it in white, though I prefer it in the grey.

    Anyway, I'll give Steve at KHS a call on Monday and see what he's got to say about the two.

    Nice to get a little interest in this thread. I think many people will be looking at these two bikes.

    Anyone with any answers?

    I spoke to Steve at KHS yesterday (nice guy!) and he talking me through the two bikes, my riding style, what I was wanting to do with it, etc.

    In the end, decided the XCT 555 would suit me the best and it should be arriving tomorrow - can't wait! :-)
