Non-leaking water bottles, is it too much to ask?

I'm sure there was a thread on here somewhere about water bottles, but can't seem to find it. Getting a bit tired of my SIS bottles leaking and want something a bit better. Thinking Camelbak Podium, but then also quite like the idea of these...

Just what should I get?

I use the Cervelo bottles I got free with the Zipvit offer.
But even they leak, if you use the High5, or other tablet type energy drinks.
There must be some expansion as the tablets dissolve, causing enough pressure to overcome the seals!Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
I am having similar problems, all of the bottles that I use seem to leak! It's not so bad now, but in the winter when you go for a drink, and you spill freezing water all over yourself, it is just torture, and most of the time, I tried to ride without drinking anything. I have some SIS bottles, and some of the Wiggle bottles, and the CRC bottles. But all of them seem to leak, even without energy products in!!0

I use Camelback podiums and i've never had a leak!0

another vote for camelbak podiummy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0

Yeah can't fault Podiums for being leak-proof, I didn't like them originally as they need a bit more effort when squeezing them but you soon get used to them0

dropped my sis bottle the other day only for the top to fall off and all my water spill out half way round my first 50 loli need more bikes0

Another vote for Camelbak Podiums0

I bought my wife the podium bottle as she's in the car all day and has a waterbottle with her all the time - she'd soaked the passenger seat with leaking bottles a few times. Nothing with the podium.0

Think i might try a Camelbak Podium after reading this. What size do most people get?

I think the biggest they do is 620ml, but it's worth sacrificing some capacity for a decent bottle.
They really are the dogs danglies, no leaks whatsoever.0 -

Found 710ml and 620ml, think i will order one of these. The smoke and red will look good on my Bianchi Via Nirone0

I know it's a little more expensive, but you could hbought a car with bottle holders in it!Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
OK, looks like the Podium is worth a go. Just don't know which colours to get now0

Another vote of Podiums.
I've had 2 for a year now as I got fed up with every other bottle leaking.
They are so good I've just bought another pair to look good on my bike this year.As with all bottles they look a bit dog eared after a while0 -
Futher vote for Podiums. I have two and not had any leaks in a year. Never use anything else on the bike now.I have only two things to say to that; Bo***cks0

+ more for the podiums.
There is one negative though, the nozzle can collect grime on rides in bad weather which isn't great when you know you're sharing the road with horses...0 -
Dont want to hijack the thread but i need a cage for my water bottle too, what is a good value robust one? Plastic or alloy?
Cheers

Think I may have found a solution to the leaking water bottles (rather than buy the Camelbak Podium). I've found with the SIS bottles I usually use that if I screw the lid on as hard as I can, it leaks. Whereas if I just lightly screw it on, it doesn't. Think it might have something to do with the capillary action of liquids, but anyway, seems to work0

Bugger! I should have read the end of this post, before I ditched my SIS bottles and bought a Camelbak Podium :roll:Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0
