Hi all, I have recently started cycling, and brought myself a Scott Sportster P55 2010.
Would any body be able to give some advise on where to start improving my bike? It will be mainly be used for road, with maybe an odd weekend ride round some were like Rutland Water.
Any help would be great!

Haha, well, yes, although I do like this bike, I now wish I had gone for a road bike, and will get one in future, but as for now, am stuck with this one....0

In general, I'd just ride it and enjoy it without worrying too much about upgrading it unless something actually breaks.
The areas where OEMs usually compromise are wheels and tyres though, so be sure to keep a careful eye on the state of your hubs and don't go riding through broken glass!
Essential accessories:
Spare inner tubes
Saddlebag
Pump
Puncture repair kit
Helmet
Nice-to-haves:
Padded bib shorts (looks and feels odd at first, but knocks the spots off riding in anything else, your backside will thank you for it)
Gloves
Clipless pedals + shoes- - - - - - - - - -
