I've pretty much decided on a Hybrid as I wiill be riding mainly on the road but also some light trails now and then. I'm on quite a tight budget and like the look of the following;
Specialized Crosstrail

Scott Sportster P55
http://www.scott-sports.com/us_en/produ ... rtster_p55
The Scott is edging it for me at the moment (pre test) but I'm a complete novice so was hoping I could get some advice based on experience and looking at the specs.
All help greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jamie

If you are spending most of your time on the road I'd think seriously about getting a bike without suspension for 2 reasons
1. Suspension will slow you down on roads
2. Suspension on cheaper hybrids tends to be quite heavy and (often) not v good
I have a hybrid without suspension that I've used to ride in parks and stuff - if I intended to ride much heavier trails i'd go 2nd hand and buy a better mountain bike with better sus, maybe with a lockout so it doesn't bob up and down on the roads.0 -
I think the scott looks nicer, other than that they're fairly similar. Right about the suspension though, on a bike at this price it'll be pretty cack, I'd just get the Sportster P6 if I were you...0
