I've pretty much decided on a Hybrid as I wiill be riding mainly on the road but also some light trails now and then. I'm on quite a tight budget and like the look of the following;

Specialized Crosstrail

Scott Sportster P55

The Scott is edging it for me at the moment (pre test) but I'm a complete novice so was hoping I could get some advice based on experience and looking at the specs.

All help greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jamie

    I would also consider the Sportster P6 simply because front suspension is overkill for road and the occasional light trail use.

    A rigid fork will give better cycle efficiency, less weight and no maintenance.

    if on a budget avoid front suspension, it is a waste of time and energy. I'd look at the norco indie and scene bikes as well, really nicely put together and very very understated.
