Bought some lovely Ergo 2 s last August and now need some help keeping them looking spiffy. Have followed the rather vague care instructions but after a soggy sportive and a ride that turned nasty at the weekend, theres some faint staining on the leather and the seams are looking a bit discoloured too... Anybody know a decent cleaner? Boot dubbin?

No idea about cleaning, but for future use, this is pretty much the exact purpose of Belgian Booties.

Sidis are made from Lorica - a synthetic leather - give em a good scrub with a soft brush, warm water and clothes washing detergent and they'll be like new. There's nothing you need to do in terms of treating the fabric. Don't put dubbin on there!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

i clean mine with the smallest anount of cif to remove any stubburn marks and then finish off with show whitener. brings them up really well. pick it up on your next shop in tesco/sainsbury/asda/whatever...

  • I take the insoles out, stick them in a pillow case and chuck them in the washing machine on a short, cool wash - 30C. They come out spotless.

I've done it for years with no problems at all, with road shoes and MTB shoes, carbon soles included.
It doesn't get any easier, but I don't appear to be getting any faster.
