ordered a bunch of stuff last night from Chain reaction but heard this morning that all irish airspace is closed.

Do they send their orders via air or sea from NI to England?

I would think via the sea, air freight is massively expensive. Either way the airspace is due to reopen this afternoon.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

Unless you have specified a 25 hours service you should be fine. I guess things like parcelforce 24hr or Royal mail special delivery will not be guaranteed

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford?

Allegedly most of the Royal Mail comes over on the boat. I ordered some stuff during the last eruption and it was only a day or two late.
