hi,
I have just been asked to do a charity ride and being a beginner need some advise please?
i currently have a cube attention with mtb tyres
question
would there be a huge difference if i changed my tyres to road tyres for less rolling resistance or would it make more sense to purchase another cycle
eg: a hybrid ?

Fitting slick tyres to your MTB will make a good difference, go for the thinnest tyres you rims will allow. schwalbe city jets are good tyres, cheap aswell.0

For info I changed the knobblys on my front sus mountain bike to slicks to ride the Paris/Roubaix (didn't fancy doing it on my old touring bike as I felt it would be too much of a risk and likely fall to bits). Did some training rides with my son who also changed to slicks (who dictated the speed) and we reduced a 25 mile ride from about 2 hrs 20 mins to 1 hour 45 and he was fresh as a daisy at the end. All in all probably 30-40% easier with slicks.
I went with the schwalbe city jets as well (Wiggle we doing an offer on a pair with tubes)

100 miles is a long way to ride on any MTB, slicks or no slicks!0
