I have a week off work this week, so far have planned
today = MD2 10TT
Tue - 35 mile loop, meeting a coach, then club 10 in evening
Wed - 85 mile hilly inclouding rhigos and bwlch (bits of the Dragon ride)
Thu - 75 ish including my nemesis the Tumble
Fri - MTB all day
Its the latter bit I need help with. I want a challenging route in the sense of endurance not technical skill, i.e. a MTB route for roadies! This is why I've posted in road and not MTB. I will not be wearing baggy shorts, or suddenly glue hair onto my legs. I was thinking of something like The Gap in the Brecon beacons, but might not be a good idea in the rain and cold that Friday might bring. I'd welcome any suggestions, preferebaly routes that are 25+ miles, easily navigable though can use a Garmin; was thinking of one of the trail centres near me (Afan, cwmcarn etc) but I'm still too much of an MTB novice to enjoy them that much. Skyline at Afan looks good, but again don't know if it's too technical. Part of my problem is I suffer a bit from vertigo, so stuff like Vertigo on the Twmbarlam section at Cwmcarn just makes my head spin, much to the amusement of my baggy short wearing friends....

The Gap is way less technical than the trail centres, although it is a bit exposed if the weather is bad.0

The skyline is a good choice. It's 46km but there are 2 shortcut points, so you can do a loop of approx 15km, approx 30km or the full 46km.
There are some technical bits, the first climb is a killer, but there's nothing too serious technically. Lots of stuff that will give you a good work out !
Worth a trip, even if it's just for the views and the final decent !!Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

aaggh, well the planned trip to Brechfa en route to pembs won't work out, so it looks like Skyline. If I come off and need stitches / cast then I blame you0
