Riding Lands end to John O Groats this summer, I want to plan my routes on te computer before, and then have turn by turn guiding by GPS each day already stored on board. Anyone know whats a winner?

For navigation you'd be better with a Garmin Etrex Legend or Vista HCx. Has all the navigation features of the Edge 705 (same maps, turn-by-turn directions if you want them, etc.), but runs on AA batteries so you don't have to worry about finding somewhere to charge it every day (probably only an issue if you're camping). Quite a bit cheaper as well.

But an Edge 705 would be a better option if you want to use it as a training aid after your LEJOG.
    More problems but still living....

Garmin Edge 705...brilliant device. Plan each day's routes and follow turn by turn.

Have to say I have no experience of the devices suggested by amaferanga but never had a problem with my 705. Not cheap but worth every penny.
There's no such thing as too old.
