I have about £500 max to spend on a new bike. But i don't know what to do. I will be riding 6 miles a day, 3 miles there and back. It will just be on the road no pavements on anything. I have the carrera subway one, but it keeps breaking. I'm not sure if i should buy a road bike, as people are saying its fast but nto comfortable. The one thing I dont like about the subway 2 is the slowness, I like to go fast as possible. (time= money)

Ive onyl checked out the following:

'Specialized Allez 16
'raleigh airlite 300
'AIRLite SF2.0

I shalt be carrying anythign really either.

Or should i just go for a "cheap" 250 quid bike? which i have now, but is broken.

    Welcome sharp.

I'd steer clear of buying another subway, heavy and the components aren't great. Road bikes being uncomfortable is a myth. You just need to do a bit of research as to which road bike suits your needs. Try before you buy if possible, the right size is most important for comfort so you need to look at seat tube length and top tube for the right reach. With a budget of £500 you could find a top bike on ebay.

Thats where the research comes in. Lots of good bikes about and plenty of threads on here if you try a search, best bike for £500, 750, 1000 etc. Try a few you like the look of in a shop then look at ebay. If you've not got the time for this the specialized allez you mentioned is a good start for a road bike.
